- How do I upload a video, image or audio file?
- First, you must be a registered user of YouGizmos.com.
- "How do I register?" you ask.
- Click the "Register Now!" button at the top of the homepage, and fill out the required information.
- Once you are registered, Log in and click the "UPLOAD" button in the homepage menu bar.
- Then click "Audio Files," "Image Files," or "Video Files" for whatever type of file you want to upload.
- Title your file anything you want (that's appropriate), and "tag" it with words that people might
associate with your video.
- Check all the categories that your file falls into. For example, for a wooden elipticrank, you
would check "inventions" and "simple wooden projects."
- Click "continue" and on the next page, click browse and find the file you want to upload.
- Finally, Click "Upload!" and your file will be publically or privately displayed on the site
(after we at yougizmos.com approve it of course!)
- Be sure to use a file format that is compatible with yougizmos.com.
- The accepted video formats are the video formats are 3GP, 3GPP, ASF, AVI, DAT, FLV, MOV, MP4,
MPG, MPEG, RM, and WMV.
- The accepted image formats are GIF, JPG, JPEG, and PNG.
- The accepted audio files are FLAC, M4A, MP3, MP4, OGG, RM, VQF, WAV, and WMA.
- Use a relatively small file with good resolution/sound because extremely High Resolution files
will
download slower for other users (we use a compressor, but be reasonable).
- What if my video, image, or audio file is not in the format yougizmos.com accepts?
- For videos, try going back to the program you created the movie in (such as iMovie, Camtasia,
Final Cut, Windows Movie Maker, etc.) and try exporting it in a different format.
- There is free software to download that converts files from one format to another (Google is our friend).
- For videos, .WMV, and .AVI tend to download the quickest while maintaining high resolution, but
other formats are acceptable.
- Try to export your videos and images in the highest resolution possible without making the files too large!
- What can I buy and sell on yougizmos.com?
- The "Buy & Sell" button is located in the menu bar.
- You can sell your own blue prints, plans and ideas to other yougizmos.com users for your own set
price, and all the money will go directly to your bank account (by using a safe and reliable PayPal account).
- We strongly desire yougizmos.com users to make a profit and acquire recognition for their creativity.
None of the profit goes to the administrators of yougizmos.com.
- What is networking?
- Yougizmos.com, unlike many other project-based sites, has numerous ways to connect with people socially.
- In the "Menu Bar," there is a button titled "Social." It has a dropdown menu which includes Forums,
Blogs, Groups, Members, and Instant Messenger.
- What is a blog?
- A blog can be described as a "whatever." We have a section of our site strictly for blogging, meaning,
people can post subjects for any conversations (such as, "why does my iPod continually shut off when I am using it? Or,
"Why do I get turned down every time I ask someone on a date?). We would prefer the former subject rather than the latter,
but blogs are completely open for all opinions from every member of our site.
- Blogs are often disheveled with innumerable views and filled with loads of useful information.
- Feel free to start your own blog or contribute to someone else's today!
- What is a forum?
- It is like a blog except for the main and sub-categories (such as Automotive, or Culture and Art) were
originally started by the administrators of yougizmos.com.
- The sub-categories of course are jam-packed with anyone's tom-foolish opinions.
- It's basically a discussion board with user-generated content.
- What is Instant Messaging and how can I use it on yougizmos.com?
- Essentially, it is like really fast email. The moment you press enter after a message, it will appear
on the individual's screen that you are messaging with.
- It's a real conversation, in real time.
- How do I download yougizmos.com's instant messenger?
- You can find the Messenger Download Page by going to Social ont he menu bar and clicking messenger.
(don't worry, the file is small and does not contain viruses/malware/adware or spyware!)
- Once it is fully downloaded and installed, you can access the messenger through your start menu, then programs (on a PC)
and your hard-drive, and your applications on a Mac.
- What type of content should I submit on yougizmos.com?
- On menu bar, there is a button called "Media" that has Categories listed at the bottom of its drop-down menu.
- Basically, anything that sparks imagination and ignites in you and others the passion to create.
- Yougizmos.com is a work in progress and will not be complete until every man woman and child on earth
is happy, healthy and productive.
